Can you believe it? Despite all the chaos, ups and downs, we’ve made it to the end of another year. Matter of fact, we’ve made it to the end of another decade. We know… Our minds are blown too.We know you’ve been working hard to stick to your fitness goals, which is no easy feat, especially during the holiday season. And in case no one has told you, let us be the first - You’re doing a heck of a great job and we’re proud of you!

No matter how many times you’ve fallen off the proverbial health wagon, the best thing you can do for yourself is to continue getting back on. Don’t let a bad day, week, month(s) deter you. You have what it takes to reach your goals and one step at a time, you’ll get there. Here are a few tips to keep your progress steady through the end of the year.

1. Don’t give up

It might be a huge struggle to get out and exercise during the winter, but no matter what, go do it. Even if you can’t muster the strength to keep up as many fitness days as you did during the spring and summer. Some is better than none.Even if you’ve slipped from your diet one (or several) times. It’s fine. Don’t beat yourself up over it. Make healthier choices for your next meal. Remember, just because you didn’t stick with your original plan doesn’t mean you can’t get back on track. You can always get back on track. Log back into the iTrackBites app and just start again.

2. Call on friends and family for accountability

Now would be a great time to recruit workout buddies. This time of year is all about togetherness anyway, right? So gather some of your favorite people and go workout together. If you’re relying on each other to show up, it’ll be easier to stick with your commitment to healthier living. Don’t have anyone in-person that you can rely on? Head over to the iTrackBites community. There are always friends there who will hold you accountable and give you the support you need.

3. Buy yourself some new workout clothes

It’s winter. You deserve some new workout clothes that make you feel awesome about yourself (and keep you warm). I don’t know about you, but new workout clothes always motivate me to get moving.Spoil yourself with a few new workout attire pieces and then spoil yourself some more by taking great care of your body.

4. Join a fitness class

Maybe you don’t have any friends or family that will stay consistent. That’s fine! Check out your gym’s class schedule and pick a fitness class to start going to every week! You’ll meet new people and classes are a great way to get in shape and have fun doing it. And who knows, you might even make new friends!

5. Make a playlist you just can’t help but dance to

Take some time while you’re hanging out at home to create a workout playlist that makes it impossible to sit still while you listen. You can check out some of the pre-made workout playlists on platforms like Spotify and Pandora for inspiration. Or, make a post on social media and get suggestions from your Facebook friends! Not a music person? Find a few podcasts or audiobooks to keep you entertained while you get your fitness on. I don’t know about you, but it’s tough for me to find time to listen to my favorite podcasts and books day-to-day. So, I listen while I walk/stretch/lift. They keep me blissfully distracted while I get my daily steps in.You’ve got this. It’s not always going to feel easy, but if you want to make it out the other side of winter feeling better than you do now, keep moving. It’ll make these short daylight hours and cold weather much easier to bear.Never forget, there’s a huge community of people at your fingertips on the iTrackbites app. Find a group that resonates with you and lean on each other for support!2020 is coming no matter what you do, so you might as well ring it in feeling like your best self!
