Pot Roast

Hibah Alabbadi

“Turkey might take center stage at Thanksgiving, but it’s not the only star on our table! 🌟 I love serving up a rich, flavorful pot roast that’s always a crowd favorite. During the holidays, I triple the recipe—because trust me, one batch is never enough! It’s so good, everyone’s asking for seconds (and the recipe!).” - Chef Hibah

Serves
8

Ingredients

  • 1 chuck roast (about 3 pounds)
  • 1 yellow onion (quartered)
  • 3 russet potatoes (peeled and cut up into thick slices)
  • 2 carrots (peeled and cut into thick slices)
  • 1 Tbs Garlic Powder
  • 1 Tbs Onion Powder
  • 1 Tbs Paprika
  • 1 Tbs All Spice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 packet of pot roast mix - add to 1 cup water (stays the same no matter how many roasts you make)
  • 1 packet of gravy mix- use dry mix (stays the same no matter how many roasts you make)
  • 1 cup of water

Directions

  1. First, place the roast in a baking dish and put all the spices on both sides of the roast.
  2. Next, add the veggies all around the roast.
  3. Then, take the packet of pot roast mix and add it to 1 cup of hot water— combine well and then pour over all the veggies.
  4. Take the gravy packet and sprinkle the dry mixture all over the food in the pan.
  5. Cover and bake at 400 degrees until the meat is tender. (Mine took 2 hours, but every oven is different.)

Enjoy!
