Ingredients

  • 2 cups Self-rising flour
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups Nonfat plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tsp. Dried chives (or 2 tbsp. fresh, finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp. Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. Onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp. Salt (optional, since self-rising flour may already contain salt)
  • Optional: Pinch of black pepper
  • Optional topping: Extra chives, coarse salt, or light sprinkle of Parmesan

Directions

  1. Preheat oven: 375°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine self-rising flour, chives, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Make a well, then add Greek yogurt and eggs. Stir until a soft, slightly sticky dough forms. Do NOT over-mix or they will be tough!
  3. Shape biscuits: Scoop about 1/3 cup of dough per biscuit and shape into rounds, or leave them rustic. Place on prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle extra chives or Parmesan on top if desired.
  4. Bake for 15 minutes until golden brown on top.
  5. Enjoy warm as a side for soups, holiday meals, or brunch.
  6. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
